Accessibility

A night of comedy should work for everyone who wants one. We want The Stand West — the room at 407 West 15th St and this website — to be easy to get into, easy to use and easy to enjoy, whatever your access needs.

If something gets in your way, we want to know, and the quickest route is to tell us before your visit.

Tell us what would make your visit work and we will plan it with you. For example:

• Wheelchair seating, or a seat for a companion beside you
• A seat near the stage for hearing or sight
• Extra time to be seated before the show
• Anything else about getting in, getting around or getting settled

Service animals are welcome.

The more notice you can give, the more we can do. Get in touch through our contact page when you book, and mention your show date.

Tickets are sold through Tixr, whose checkout is a separate website with its own accessibility. If anything there stops you from buying a ticket, contact us and we will help you buy tickets another way.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In building the site we have:

• Chosen text and background colors that meet AA contrast
• Made every link, button, menu and calendar control usable with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline
• Labelled every form field, and used standard headings and landmarks so screen readers can move around each page
• Given show images a text alternative
• Built pages that reflow on small screens and when zoomed

We know of some limits. Show artwork is supplied by performers and promoters and can include text that is not repeated elsewhere on the page. Some linked documents, such as menus in PDF form, may not be fully accessible. And pages on other sites we link to, including Tixr, are outside our control.
